2010 ACA Coaches Summit - Nakiska - April 19-21

Please register by February 8, 2010. This years’ Summit will include sessions held on snow with Alpine Canada Alpin National Team Coaches, at Nakiska Ski Resort, which will provide actual hands on opportunities. Indoor sessions and presentations will also be provided on training, medical, rules and safety updates, new trends in the ski industry, which will be held at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis.

- Wednesday, Apr 21 - AM on hill - PM indoor

Due to booking of Nakiska Ski Resort and scheduling of ACA coaches, an early commitment from participants is required to ensure the Summit proceeds.

New CSCF Coach Bursary

The CSCF Coach Bursary program is intended to help support coaches who are working toward completion of CERTIFIED status in the CSCF Development Level or Performance Level pathways. Consideration will also be given to coaches who are pursuing Level 4 certification outside of an NCI program. The Bursary Program is funded through voluntary contributions received from CSCF members.

The coach bursaries will support in the field “coaching evaluation” components of the coach certification pathways. More information on certification pathways can be found on the CSCF web site.

Priority consideration for bursary support will be given to full time or seasonal full time coaches working in club or regional programs either directly with athletes or in coordinating or managing roles.

Qualifying Coaching Evaluations - The following coaching evaluations qualify for coach bursary support:

- Development Level Coaching Evaluation – during training
- Development Level Coaching Evaluation – at a race

- Performance Level Coaching Evaluation – during training
- Performance Level Coaching Evaluation – at a race
- Performance Level Performance Planning Evaluation
- Performance Level Managing a Program Evaluation

- Level 4 Task 9 – Practical Coaching Evaluation
- Level 4 Task 11 – Practical Coach Evaluation

Coach Bursary Amount - The CSCF Coach Bursary Fund will contribute up to $110.00 for Development or Performance Level evaluations and $220.00 for Level 4 evaluations, including registration fees.

CSCF Athlete Bursary - discontinued

The CSCF would like to thank members for their voluntary contributions to the CSCF Athlete Bursary over the last 8 years. As of the 09/10 season, the CSCF will re-focus its bursary effort towards the new CSCF Coach Bursary.
