Level 1 Online Workshop

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Before coming to the level 1 course , please complete the “online workshops”. There are 2 options to complete these workshops:


  • • Complete the Canadian Approach and Practical Teaching workshops online. Each module takes 15-20 minutes to complete. At the end of each questionnaire, you will be cued to print the results page and bring it to your course. This is proof that you have completed the online workshops.
  • • If your internet connection does not permit the completion of these workshops, please print out the Level 1 online workshop questionnaire. You can then complete the questions and bring a hard copy to your course as proof of completion.

The Level 1 course is an introduction to ski teaching, CSIA technique and methodology, and the role of ski teaching within the ski industry. It combines the basics of practical ski teaching methods, technical understanding and development of guest service skills, specifically addressing children’s skiing.

The Level 1 Certification Course includes:

  1. an introduction to CSIA skiing and teaching methodology
  2. strategies to develop skiers from entry level to intermediate (parallel) using the skill development method
  3. techniques and strategies for effective assessment and development
  4. personal feedback on ski performance
  5. workshop on customer service
  6. workshop on teaching children

  8. Prerequisites:15 years of age
