This year’s themes:

  • On the road to the CSIA demo team – the next demo team process will be open to members of all levels, and this camp will introduce the training concepts, performance targets and define our objectives.
  • Review of technical components – how are our skiing basics evolving and does this change our work with the skiing public?
  • The Power of Positive teaching – good goal setting can motivate, poor goal setting can frustrate. Also, feedback can be tailored to build a skier, or to take them apart. Which methods do you use? Special guest Steve Hotz has been developing performance strategies for the CSIA demo-team and course conductors for the last few seasons. Learn how to incorporate positive emotion into your approach.

Course Conductors

Are you a CSIA course conductor?...

Want to continue your development?...

Push your skiing limits?...

Come to Supercamp 2012 !

Supercamp training has been part of the CSIA development strategy for course conductors since 2000. Intended for any level 3 or 4 currently involved or interested in course conducting, this spring camp reviews the year’s activities, looks ahead to the following season, and stimulates personal development strategies. The format encourages innovation and explores our evolving technical and teaching approaches. Participants become better skiers and teachers by developing course conducting methods, delivery and technical elements. As an exploration of new ideas and a sharing of experience, the Supercamps provide an open exchange looking to the future. If you want to push your limits as a skier and trainer, you will find many ideas.

This year’s themes:

  • Form is determined by function – is this approach working to develop advanced teachers and what tools can we use to develop this awareness? How can this be applied in basic teaching with the skiing public?
  • Functional teaching – moving past the “canned lesson” format and developing teaching skills that incorporate the new approaches that have been introduced the last few years. We will also explore our evaluation of advanced teaching skills – is it based on form or function?
  • On the road to the CSIA demo team – the next demo team process is starting! This is a “no-elimination” round and this camp will introduce the training concepts, performance targets and define our objectives for the next team.
  • The Power of Positive teaching – good goal setting can motivate, poor goal setting can frustrate. Also, feedback can be tailored to build a skier, or to take them apart. Which methods do you use?
