- GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE
- The insurance program offered by the CSIA & CSCF is underwritten by American Home Insurance Company – Commercial General Liability Policy and the territorial coverage is limited to Canadian Jurisdiction. Our Broker is Marsh Canada Limited located in Vancouver, British Columbia.
This coverage extends to certified members for pleasure skiing, and to their activities as instructors/coaches and insurable under this policy. In a general way, our policy provides financial protection against claims for “bodily injury” or “property damage” to third parties and defense costs associated with defending any lawsuit.
Members are covered under the General Liability insurance policy as an employed Instructor, while teaching/working for a recognized snow school and/or ski club; coverage does NOT apply to instructors or coaches operating as an independent business. Please note that additional coverage is available and must be purchased if members are conducting business as Independent/Freelance Instructor/coach/snow school and/or ski camp. The intent of the policy is NOT to provide coverage for snow school/ski camp operations under a paid membership renewal. For more information on insurance coverage for Independent/Freelance Instructors/coaches/snow schools and/or ski camps, please contact Mr. Sandy Millar at 1 604-692-4843 or by email at sandy.millar@marsh.com.
- This insurance policy does not cover any other Association members such as « Canadian Freestyle ». However, members that have successfully completed the CSIA Snow Park certification course are covered. This coverage strictly prohibits all inverted maneuvers.
- It is to be noted that this policy acts as excess coverage over any other valid insurance, which may exist, either on an individual basis or through one’s employer. For further information, please contact Ms. Frances Dion via email at frances@snowpro.com or by telephone at 1 800 811-6428, Ext. 231.

- ACCIDENT, DEATH AND DISABILITY INSURANCE
- The Accident, Death and Disability policy provides benefits in the event of an accident*. All CSIA and CSCF members in good standing, under 70 years of age, are eligible to this program. Members are covered when performing the normal and regular duties, which pertain to their occupation as an Instructor or a Coach and for which they are being remunerated (while under the employment of a snow school and/or ski club).
*Subject to all restrictions and limitations described in the policy.
This plan also provides members with insurance while they are travelling directly to or from their residence and the premises of their duties, along a normal or reasonable route, without delay or stop-over. Members are not covered while attending courses for which they do not receive remuneration from their employer.
A claim must be submitted as soon as possible, and within the prescribed time frames of each section listed in the policy, if applicable. No claim will be valid after three hundred and sixty-five (365) days following the date of the accident or the beginning of the disability.
- The Accident, Death and Disability policy for the 2009-2010 is currently being finalized and will be uploaded shortly. Thank you for your patience.
