CSIA News

Welcome to this edition of the Communiqué! It's starting to feel like fall across the country, with shorter days and cooler nights; winter is on its way! A few ski areas have already seen their first snow of the 2021-2022 season.

Your staff team is busy preparing for the season ahead! This issue will continue to offer some key updates that you need to be aware of, as we enter the third ski season of program operations during the COVID-19 Global Pandemic.

SAFETY UPDATE:

The health and safety of our Members is our number one priority, and as such, we have implemented the following requirement for the 2021-2022 ski season:

All Members taking part in any CSIA Program(s) will be required to show proof of Double Vaccination against the COVID-19 virus.

With the safe operations of our Programs along with the growing trend toward vaccine passports across the country, the CSIA has recently determined that for the 2021-2022 operating season, all Course Conductors teaching a CSIA Program or Members participating in CSIA programs will be required to be double vaccinated.

We are providing you this update now, to allow enough time for those who have not yet been vaccinated to do so (if you are planning on attending a Program this winter.) In our effort and commitment to doing everything we can to keep our Members safe, we thank you in advance for your understanding.

The final implementation of this process is currently in development. We are working through the complexities of the various Regional and Provincial approaches to showing proof of vaccination.  We will inform you as soon as this process and the method for submission of proof have been finalized.  Our goal is to make this step at the start of your season as convenient as possible.

FALL PRO DAY CAMPS UPDATE (previously known as “Conventions”)

Mont Tremblant

Save the date! We will be back at Tremblant for a Pro Days Camp on December 1-3. We are working closely with the resort to hold a social event (outside), combined with 3 days of skiing. We are continuing to work through these details and will update everyone as soon as possible. Stay tuned!

Lake Louise

In the September 9th edition of the Communiqué, we opened registration and hotel booking for the First Pro Days Camp of the season. Refer to the September 9th edition or click here for registration.

As some of you are aware, the restrictions, due to COVID-19 in Alberta have recently changed. We are working closely with the Hotel and the Resort to ensure the safety and convenience of our participants at the event. The Fairmont Hotel Chateau Lake Louise is allowed under these new restrictions to apply for exemption status – which it has. This exemption status means: if Guests are double vaccinated, the business will continue, as per regular COVID-19 protocols (masks in common areas, etc.) With the double vaccination requirement outlined (at the start of this Communiqué), we can proceed with the event.
