The CSIA Qualifying Event will follow the same criteria as the Powder 8 World Championships Event.

Powder 8 Events are designed for teams of two skiing in powder snow and leaving tracks that will be the envy of all skiers. The skiing will be a true test of teamwork and ability. Good sportsmanship and fair play are expected from all participants.

Judging Criteria and Marking:

Synchronicity: The skiers are expected to be in synch, one turn apart, and crossing tracks to leave the best possible figure 8s. Body position, and consistent movements will gain the best marks. Marking will be out of 10 in 1/10ths.

Dynamic Skiing: The skiers are expected to ski aggressively, stay on their track and not interfere with the other team (head to head), in other words, get from the start to the finish as quickly and efficiently as possible keeping in mind the need for tracks and synchronicity. Marks out of 10 in 1/10ths.

Shape: The true test of the event. Marked out of 10 in 10ths.

Symmetry: Refer to images. The essence of the competition and expected outcome is symmetry. Staying in the fall line and in a defined lane will be part of the consideration. Marks out of 10 in 10ths. First over finish in Head to Head: 3 - points from head judge only.
