Being younger than everyone else in my courses sometimes made me question whether I was ready, but I learned to trust myself and my abilities. I had to stay focused, work hard, and remind myself why I started. Through this experience, I learned that challenging myself is one of the best ways to grow and achieve.

What was a setback that ended up helping you grow as an instructor?

One setback that helped me grow was not passing my Level 3 exam on my first attempt while I was out west. I went in knowing I might not pass, but I wanted to experience the process and get feedback. Instead of seeing it as a failure, I used it to identify areas to improve and prepare for my next attempt. It taught me to value feedback, learn from setbacks, and keep trying even when things are hard.

If you could go back and speak to yourself at the beginning of your ski instruction journey, what would you tell her?

I would tell her to believe in herself and not let her age make her question whether she belongs. There will be challenges and setbacks along the way, but each one will teach her something and help her grow into a better instructor. I would tell her not to be afraid of making mistakes, asking for feedback, or stepping outside of her comfort zone. Most importantly, I would tell her to enjoy the journey and be proud of how far she has come, because all of the hard work will be worth it.

Mettez ces dates à votre agenda!

Les dates des événements régionaux sont disponibles !
