Level 1 Registration

LENGTH OF COURSE:
Day course: 3 days (8:30 am to 4:30 pm)

COST OF COURSE:
The cost of the course is $385.00 (Plus HST 13%).
The cost of the re-test exams is $175.00 (Plus HST 13%)
Please note: course does not include lift tickets, accommodations, meals or transportation.
Re-tests will only be available on full day courses.

ELIGIBILITY:
Strong parallel skier, minimum age 15 years at time of course. Proof of age is required. Knowledge of CSIA skiing skills will be beneficial.
Candidates must pass on-snow skiing tests and a teaching evaluation.
It is suggested that candidates have their skiing skills evaluated by a current Level 3 or 4 CSIA Instructor prior to attending a course.

COURSE CONTENT:
A 21-hour program designed to develop skiing and teaching abilities of potential ski instructors.
Teaching strategies will focus on developing skiers from beginner to parallel.
Candidates will receive feedback on their personal ski performance and ability to demonstrate CSIA technique.
This course is a pass/fail evaluation based upon candidates’ skiing skills and understanding of teaching concepts presented.

Candidates must pass both skiing and teaching components to be certified as CSIA Level I instructors. Unsuccessful candidates are eligible to 'retake' the course over a 2-day period called 'exams only'.
