PRESS RELEASE

PSIA-AASI / Vail Selected to Host Interski 2027

Montreal, QC (December 14, 2023) – The Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance (CSIA) is excited to share that Vail, Colorado has been chosen as host resort for Interski Congress 2027! The successful bid was led by our friends and associates at the Professional Ski Instructors of America and American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI) in partnership with Vail Mountain and the Town of Vail, Colorado, who will host the quadrennially held Interski Congress April 4-9, 2027.

The selection followed an international vote of Interski member instructor associations representing more than 30 nations and three international specialized organizations. As Interski recognizes only one vote from each country, as Canada’s representative, the CSIA’s vote was joined by a majority of other member nations in support of Vail, who were selected over the only other competing bid from the Association of Italian Ski Instructors (AMSI) and the town of Livigno, Italy. The CSIA would also like to congratulate them for their strong bid.

In the announcement, PSIA-AASI Chief Executive Officer Peggy Hiller said, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to host this fantastic educational event in cooperation with Vail and look forward to welcoming our colleagues from around the world to an incredible week of learning and sharing.”

CSIA’s Senior Director of Operations and Education, Nigel Loring was equally elated with the outcome of the vote. “We are so happy with this decision of our fellow Interski members. Peggy and the PSIA-AASI team along with Vail put together a fantastic bid for this great event and we’ve been supportive of them throughout this process. After 36 years (Interski’87 Banff, AB), it is exciting to see Interski back in North America.”

The CSIA and PSIA-AASI have shared a long history of collaboration and friendship, as such the CSIA and the Canadian delegation is truly looking forward to taking part in this Congress with all our peers from around the world. As a proud member of International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA), the International Association of Education in Science and Snowsports (IAESS) and Interski, the CSIA believes that the Interski Congress event not only enriches the participants, but also enables us to share the learnings and information gathered during the event with CSIA Members across the country.
