The CSIA is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Young to the newly created position of Products and Education Manager effective May 1, 2024.

Jason’s passion for the industry is evident in his background: he is a practising Level 4 pro, past chair of CSIA Ontario, and former Ontario Education Program Coordinator (EPC). By education, Jason holds a Ph.D. in sport management from Troy University, and both master’s and undergraduate degrees from Western University. As a recent professor at Georgian/Durham College, Jason developed several online e-Learning programs delivering education on a variety of subjects including e-commerce, sport marketing, research methods in sport and recreation, and advanced project controls.

Jason’s unique combination of academic background and managerial and practical experience within the sport industry make him ideally suited to the role.

In this new position Jason will oversee the:

  • research and development of all educational programs;
  • development of new learning tools;
  • creation of new online instructional modules, webinars, and instructional videos;
  • digitization and updating of all technical and teaching manuals;
  • documentation and updating of all certification standards;
  • enhancement of candidate evaluation systems and processes;
  • equality and consistency of all program curricula and course conductor documentation in both official languages.

The CSIA is extremely excited with the prospect of Jason’s ability to innovate on the CSIA’s education methods and tools, resulting in an elevated learning experience for our members, and enhanced program-quality. The outcome will positively impact our member experience, ski industry employers, and the skiing public.
