Your CSIA Member Number is shown on your Membership Card as well as your renewal notices, confirmations & receipts. Your CSIA Member Number can also be found in your member profile. This can be found by accessing the Members Area and clicking on My Profile. If you need assistance locating your Member Number, please click here and send us your full name, date of birth and address.
All Membership receipts are automatically uploaded to your Member Area/My Invoices and Receipts, after you login. Please note there is no official Tax Receipt for Membership dues, only a paid invoice.
All Membership fee payments are final. No refund will be issued.
No, you will not be required to pay back dues for all seasons that you were not a Member. When reinstating, you may be responsible for paying a Reinstatement fee plus the cost of the Annual Membership the season you reactivate.
You can consult your membership card through your CSIA Member profile. Once you are logged in, please follow these steps to view your card:
- Click on “Member Area” and choose “Profile”
- Click on the button: “Download My Membership Card” to view or print your card
- Click on “Add to Apple Wallet” to add your card to the Apple Wallet App on iOS devices, including iPhone, iPod and Apple Watch.
If you requested a Physical Membership card when renewing your membership, you should receive your card within 4 weeks from the date your membership payment was received.
Once you have passed a Certification, it is yours for life. However, upon reinstatement, you are strongly recommended to complete a Recall of your Certification. We recommend that all members participate in a recall activity at least once every 3 seasons. It is in the Members’ best interest to keep their Certification up to date as it helps maintain the integrity of CSIA Certification. Employers do verify membership, certification and recall status.
In order to qualify for the ISIA Recognition, you must be a Regular Memberof the organization holding CSIA Level 3 or above, and provide proof of a valid Avalanche Safety Training and First Aid Certification as well as have accumulated 320 hours of education. CSIA Membership runs from October 1st to September 30th every year.
When your successfully complete either your CSIA Level 1 or SnowPark Level 1, you become certified and enjoy all the rights and privileges of a current CSIA Member for the remainder of the current membership season. To retain your Membership and receive all the Member rights and privileges for another season, there is an annual Membership fee to be paid each fall. Login to your Member Area/My Renewal to access the Renewal.
A Member may have their permanent address of residency in a given CSIA Region, but choose to teach skiing or reside, on a seasonal basis, in another Region. Consult the CSIA’s Regional Affiliation Procedure to change your Regional Affiliation on a seasonal basis.
The CSIA Pro Deals Program is open to all active CSIA Members in good standing.
Each CSIA Member is entitled to 1 (one) set of Pro Deal equipment per season purchased in Canada. This means you can purchase one pair of skis, one pair of bindings, one pair of poles, one pair of boots, one helmet and one pair of goggles unless specified by the manufacturer.
There is no deadline to purchase your equipment (details below). However, stock is limited, so first come, first served.
The CSIA Pro Deals Program varies by manufacturer. Some will direct you to their online store and others will provide you with a PDF order form. For those who provide a PDF, you can either place your order directly with the manufacturer or you can visit a participating retailer in Canada with the PDF form and your valid Membership card (physical or digital).
Unfortunately, the CSIA National Office does not have a list of the many different retailers across Canada that participate in the Program. We strongly suggest contacting your preferred local retailer to ask if they participate in the CSIA Pro Deals Program.
Please be friendly and very respectful of the staff at the participating retail store as they are providing CSIA Instructors with a service. If you have clients looking to purchase equipment, recommend the store where you bought your Pro Deal equipment to return the service.
The CSIA National Office acts as the liaison for the manufacturer. If you have questions about specific products, pricing, etc., please contact the manufacturer or a participating retail store that carries the brand you are interested in.
