UNVEILING THE 2025 CSIA HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES

The Hall of Fame & Member Recognition Committee (HOFMR) recognizes those members who have made a truly significant long-term contribution to the growth and betterment of the CSIA as an organization.

The Hall of Fame has four categories :

FOUNDERS BUILDERS INSPIRATIONAL LEADERS SPECIAL CONTRIBUTORS

The HOFMR is honoured to announce the Inductees for 2025. 

Robert (Bob) began under the tutelage of Real Charette at Gray Rocks in the late 1950’s, served as Ski School Director at Manoir Pinoteau, and then moved to the more remote start up ski areas in far eastern Quebec and Labrador, where he spent some 30 years – Smokey Mountain, Labrador; Trouble Mountain, and Sept Isles, as Ski School Director. He then moved into ski area management in that region as well at the areas noted above and at Station Le Valinouet, Falardeau (QC) and at Mont Edouard, L’Anse Saint-Jean (QC).

Bob’s expertise and his desire to grow the sport and his passion for the CSIA led him to introduce the CSIA teaching methodology and introduce certification level courses at each of these areas.

Robert was a totally dedicated disciple of the CSIA and kept the organization in the forefront at each of these ski areas as they developed.

For over 40 years, Charles successfully organized and executed countless events, professional development days and certification courses in the Atlantic Region, which encompasses 4 provinces in 3 time zones and 2 official languages. His contribution in the region is a key reason the CSIA has seen success and growth in Atlantic.

Charles has been a totally dedicated and passionate ski professional that has deeply enhanced the CSIA presence in the Atlantic region. He recently retired as the full time EPC for the Atlantic Region.

With over 40 years as a CSIA member, Janice has contributed to the CSIA and global ski industry at the highest levels. A CSIA Level 4 Sr. Course Conductor with multiple other ski certifications, her teaching and coaching career has spanned many continents, such as Canada, Europe, and the Southern Hemisphere.

Janice has served on the Children’s and Technical Committees (including as Western TC Chair) and organized an influential women’s professional development camp. A member of the 2003 CSIA Interski Team in Crans-Montana, Janice has consistently shown leadership, innovation, and commitment to advancing the sport of alpine skiing and ski teaching.

Throughout her career, she has inspired and mentored countless instructors in pursuit of a CSIA certification, youth ski racing goals, and beyond. Her passion for skiing is reflected not only in her professional legacy but also in her family, with one daughter ranked among Canada’s top World Cup slalom skiers and another on the verge of joining the circuit.
 

Jim is a former Snow School Director at Mt. Boler, in London, Ontario, Assistant Director at Devil’s Glen, and continues as a supervisor at Devil’s Glen and as a Course Conductor in Canada and Japan.

Jim’s problem-solving ability was one of the major strong points of his leadership during his tenure on the National Board.
Jim has and continues to demonstrate great leadership qualities and passion for the CSIA and currently acts as Chair of the Past Chairs Committee.
