This course will immerse you in the CSIA 5 Skill Framework: Balance, Rotary, Edging, Pressure, and Coordination, empowering you to teach with confidence, efficiency, and consistency, and you’ll gain practical skills and insights to support skill development of skiers of all abilities.

The 5 Skills Framework E-Learning

• The CSIA 5 Skills eLearning module introduces the foundational skiing skills of balance, rotary, edging, pressure and coordination. Through practical examples, you’ll learn how these skills work together to create stability and control on the snow. The course has been designed to prepare you not only for your CSIA course but most importantly to help you improve your ski teaching skills.

Tech Talk – Goal Setting for Motor Skill Development (Oct 16, 2024)

• Whether you’re preparing for your next CSIA certification or simply looking to improve your skiing, this Tech Talk will help you create a focused development plan. You’ll learn how to set effective motor learning goals, measure your progress, and identify the skills that will have the greatest impact on your performance.

Teaching Children E-Learning (Available Fall 2026)

• This course helps ski instructors learn safe, fun and engaging ways to teach children of all ages and abilities while building their skills. You’ll learn how to use CSIA’s Skiing Skills with kids, how to adapt lessons for different learners, and practical ways to communicate clearly and manage groups. By the end of the course, you’ll be ready to create safe, fun, and effective ski experiences for every child you teach.

Developing a Growth Mindset

• This course will explore both the growth mindset and its opposite, the fixed mindset. Both mindsets reflect attitudes and beliefs about how intelligence, skills, or ability are developed and can impact our success on the CSIA certification pathway.

Developing Mental Toughness

• This course explores how developing mental toughness, or grit, is an essential part of progressing through every level of CSIA certification. While technical skills are critical, long-term success also depends on perseverance, resilience, and the ability to learn from challenges, setbacks, and feedback.

Big Mountain E-Learning (Available late 2026)

• This program is designed to prepare instructors for effective teaching in big mountain environments. This eLearning will give in depth knowledge about safe teaching considerations specific to steep terrain, complex features and varying conditions within the ski area boundary.

Safety Awareness Training Online Module

• The Safety Awareness Training Module is designed specifically to enhance instructor knowledge of mountain safety, risk management, and ski lifts. This engaging, self-paced training equips instructors with the essential skills to create a safer and more enjoyable experience on the slopes.
