2026 CSIA NATIONAL HALL OF FAME RECOGNITION

The CSIA Hall of Fame & Member Recognition Committe (HOFMR) is pleased to present five exceptional individuals for induction into the CSIA National Hall of Fame.

This group represents a moment in our organization’s history, an opportunity to recognize a collective of CSIA individuals whose leadership, innovation, and commitment have helped shape the path forward. As builders, pioneers, and mentors, their contributions have had a lasting and meaningful impact on both the organization and its membership.

Among their many accomplishments, this group includes:

  • The first woman to represent the CSIA on an Interski Team.
  • Distinguished international representatives, with multiple Interski appearances, up to four times representing CSIA Canada.
  • Leaders in advancing early collaboration and important research on gender considerations within the profession.
  • Trailblazers in the creation and growth of women’s specific programming within the CSIA.
  • Accomplished & respected ski school directors and ski racing coaches who have shaped athlete and instructor development at multiple levels.
  • Significant contributors to CSIA policy development and technical writing, helping to strengthen the organization’s standards and resources.
  • Recognized leaders already honoured as CSIA Regional HOF Inductees.
  • Influential mentors who have guided and inspired others in both dynamically bold and quiet, yet deeply meaningful ways.

 DR. DIANE CULVER

Diane is an influential leader in Canadian skiing; she has advanced alpine ski racing and coaching by integrating sport pedagogy and learning theory into applied practice. Her work bridges academic research with real-world coaching and past instruction through the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance.

She is currently a Full-time Professor in the School of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa and a part-time coach and instructor at Mont Tremblant. She also serves on the editorial boards of the International Sport Coaching Journal, Sport Coaching Review, and the Canadian Journal for Women in Coaching.

·CSIA Level 4 / Course Conductor, CSCF L3 – ACA Performance Level Coach

·First woman to be a member of CSIA Interski Team in 1983 Sesto, Italy and only woman on the team

·Former CSIA Technical Committee member

·Former Canadian Ski Team member, and World Cup Ski Racing competitor   

·Former National Team Coach in Canada, and National Olympic coach in New Zealand, one of the first women to coach at that level

·Studied sport Pedagogy and Psychology at University of Ottawa and became a professor at University of Ottawa, focusing on coaching modules and mentorship of emerging researchers     

·Member of the Laurentian Ski Hall of Fame

·CSIA 2009 Report: “Critique the CSIA system for training and evaluating ski instructors and assess how it can meet the future vision of the organization”

·CSIA Women in Skiing (WIS) Committee contributor – 2017 Literary Review research project

MAGGIE GRAHAM

Maggie began her ski teaching career at Vorlage in Wakefield, Quebec and went on to become a top-level 4 course conductor and dedicated volunteer with the CSIA. She has made lasting contributions to instructor development and to advancing gender-informed education on snow. She currently coaches full-time as a U14 coach at Club de ski Mont-Tremblant, inspiring the next generation of athletes, especially young women. As a former secondary school educator, Maggie is passionate about helping others achieve what matters most to them.

Outside of skiing, she is a leadership and development coach and policy advisor, navigating the health product regulatory space in Canada. Maggie’s professionalism, leadership, and generosity make her a true role model.

·Developed the 2015 Interski country research information sheets for CSIA Membership, Ski Pro/Communication

·CSIA Interski Selection Judge (2019)

·Demonstrator for CSIA Teaching Manual and contributor to the CSIA Technical Committee

·Integral to the creation and development of the Women in Skiing (WIS) committee, 2014-2019

·Lead author of the Gender Equity policy that was adopted by the CSIA in 2018.

·Represented the CSIA WIS Committee at three PSIA Women’s Summit events as a coach presenter

·Developed and contributed to WIS on-snow course content; camps, modules and education material

·Championed, and implemented an evidenced-based, science first approach for all WIS initiatives

·Contribution to integrating gender-based considerations to support the CSIA’s education offerings

·On going volunteer WIS Mentor to CSIA Membership

ANDI CIOTTI

Andi began her ski teaching career in Banff with the SkiBig3 “Club Ski” following her time as a racer with the Southern Ontario Ski Team. A long-standing volunteer contributor to the CSIA and the broader ski industry, she has made a meaningful impact both regionally and nationally, supporting skier development, advancing instructor training, and strengthening member engagement. Known for her quiet, efficient professionalism and genuine dedication, Andi is currently the Snow School Director at the Toronto Ski Club in Collingwood, ON and continues to inspire through her unwavering commitment to the growth of ski instructors and the CSIA

·CSIA Ontario Hall of Fame Inductee 2013, CSIA ON, Award of Merit / Outstanding service award recipient

·CSIA Ontario Board Member

·Created the very first women’s only annual regional CSIA development day

·Chair of the National CSIA 75th Anniversary celebrations in 2013

·Course Conductor at CSIA National Convention  at Tremblant annually for over 30 years

·Co-Founder j-Prep Online Health & Safety Training for Snowschools – CSIA National Coordinator and contributor for e-learning courses.

·Ski Canada Test contributor & National Ski Academy Coach

SUNNY VERREAULT

Sunny’s ski career started at Do-Mi-Ski and really began at Mont-Edouard as instructor and U16-FIS regional team coach. Her consistent and long-standing involvement and inspiration with both the CSIA and the education of ski professionals has had a direct impact on the quality and advancement of the instructors she has trained. Her skiing and coaching style has been an inspiration to all over the years. She currently is the program director, coach training for the Ski Québec Alpin (SQA.)

HEATHER BILODEAU

Heather began her ski teaching career at Sunshine Village, where her love of music became part of her unique connection with her ski students. Renowned for her mentorship, Heather has a natural ability to put people at ease, fostering an environment where learning is both fun and effective, leading to the development of confident, skilled ski instructors, and she played a meaningful and vital role in supporting the CSIA and ski industry success of her late husband, Don Bilodeau a 2007 CSIA National Hall of Fame Inductee.

·50 + Year CSIA Member

·CSIA Interski Team member: 1987 Banff, Alberta (A claim to fame is that Heather made the team while 7 months pregnant)

·Demonstrator for CSIA Teaching Manual

·Took on Panorama Ski School and evolved this SOS (School of Skiing) into a concession that would become one of the best.

·Created the Ski Pro Workshop at Panorama that focused on early season training for CSIA members from across the country

·Early proponent of empowering women in skiing – created the “Chicks on Sticks” program at Panorama

·Pioneer of video ski tips and Ski Canada contributor

·Trainer/Instructor at Whistler, with delivery of many women’s only clinics

·WIS Coach for Women in Skiing CSIA pro days at Whistler

·CSIA BC Hall of Fame recipient 2026

Together, their collective legacy reflects progress, resilience, and a commitment to growing a more inclusive and forward-looking CSIA.

Doug Perry, Andre Schwarz and Manuel Osborne-Paradis inducted into the 2026 Canadian Ski Hall of Fame

We are happy to share that Doug Perry, CSIA Level 4 instructor and course conductor and 1991 Interski Team member, Andre Schwarz, CSIA Level 4 and principal architect of Movement and Motion and Manuel Osborne-Paradis, CSIA Level 4, are part of the Class of 2026 Canadian Ski Hall of Fame Inductees.
