With the arrival of September, we are that much closer to getting back on the slopes!
On September 1, we officially kicked off our member renewal campaign and opened registration for the 2026–27 season. Thank you to everyone who has already renewed. Your enthusiasm and commitment to CSIA are energizing as we prepare for what promises to be a busy and exciting season ahead.
One of the things I’m most excited about this year is the launch of Ski and Teach the Canadian Way.
The Canadian Way represents an important evolution for CSIA, while also reflecting what has always made our members so strong: great skiing, great teaching, adaptability, curiosity and a genuine desire to help people succeed on snow.
At its core, the Canadian Way is about creating greater consistency across the country. It provides a common language and a shared, evidence-based framework for skiing and teaching throughout CSIA.
These concepts will be embedded across our programs, educational resources, videos, e-learning and instructor development pathways. The goal is to strengthen consistency from coast to coast, support your own development as an instructor, improve the learning experience for your students and continue raising the standard of ski instruction in Canada.
I hope you’ll take time this season to explore the new resources, bring the concepts onto the snow and talk about them with your fellow instructors. The real value of the Canadian Way will come from how each of you brings it to life.

Another exciting change this season is the arrival of Karbon as CSIA’s new uniform sponsor.
We are thrilled to begin introducing a new red uniform that proudly reflects Canada’s colours and gives our Course Conductors a fresh, distinctive look on snow.
Rolling out a new uniform across the country is a significant undertaking, and we want to do it in a way that is both responsible and sustainable. To balance inventory requirements, operational needs and fiscal responsibility, the transition to the new red uniform will take place over two seasons.
For the 2026–27 season:
- Level 1 Course Conductors will continue in the black uniform.
- Level 2+ Course Conductors who taught fewer than five days during the 2025–26 season will continue in the black uniform.
- Level 2+ Course Conductors who taught five or more days during the 2025–26 season will receive the new red uniform.
Those remaining in the black uniform this season will receive their new red uniform at the beginning of the 2027–28 season.
We are very excited to see the new uniform begin to appear on snow this fall and to watch the transition take shape across the country. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we work through this phased rollout.
